Netflix is pushing harder than ever on developing game adaptations, even as it tries todevelop its gaming service, and there are plenty of big gaming adaptations just around the corner.

‘Resident Evil’ (Live-Action Series)

Netflix has been developing a live-action series based on the survival horror seriesResident Evil, but likePaul W. S. Anderson’sfilm series, it will not directly follow the games. Rather it’ll tell an original story centered on iconic franchise antagonist Albert Wesker, played byLance Reddick, that’s split between two timelines.

One timeline follows his two daughters stuck in a false reality, while the other features the kind of zombie survival horror fans are used to. It’s a risky move in this diversion from the source material, but hopefully, Netflix can pull it off.

‘Far Cry’ (Anime)

Along withCaptain Laserhawk, Netflix has also started production on aFar Cryanime that currently doesn’t have any details on it. It’s unclear whether it will be completely original or based on one of the games, but regardless,Far Cryand anime sound like a great combination.

WithFar Cry’s cast of compelling villains and trippy, psychedelic atmospheres, an anime adaptation could bring all ofFar Cry’s chaos into a whole new visual landscape.

Netflix’s most highly anticipated gaming adaptation is undoubtedly their upcoming animated series based onCuphead. The series will serve as an homage to the classic cartoons of the 1930s, and will depict the strange misadventures of the titular Cuphead and his best friend Mugman.
