The Mortuary Assistanthas found its two lead stars following its announcement in 2022.Arrow’sWilla HollandandHouse of Cards’Paul Sparkswill star in the film adaptation of the 2022 horror video game, developed by DarkStone Digital and directed byJeremiah Kipp.So far, the feature has yet to announce a release date, but the game’s creator,Brian Clarke, will be involved in the screenwriting.
Holland is set to play Rebecca, the game’s lead character, who will confront terrifying supernatural forces. Meanwhile, Sparks will play Raymond Delver, described as “Rebecca’s mysterious mortician boss,” a mentor but also a potential threat. The horror feature is said to expand on the game’s world and mythology and delve deeper into the lore of the demonic entities plaguing River Fields.

Clarke commented on the recent casting and updated developments for the game’s film adaptation, stating that they’re keen to see Holland and Sparks bring these characters to life and that seeing their game evolve over the years from a demo to a full-fledged film is “beyond anything I could have imagined as a solo developer.”
