Luckily for them, it’s all coming back soon, as MVM just announced that the series is getting aBlu-rayrelease. You won’t have to wait too long for it – the special edition hits shelves on August 4.

It’s pretty easy to understand whyFate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Worksbecame so compelling. The story uses a battle royale system to follow a bunch of characters who fight alongside entities who are basically reincarnations oflegendary historical or mythological figureslike Gilgamesh, Medusa, and Cú Chulainn. They are all fighting the fifth Holy Grail War, which is a magical tournament in which theyfight to the deathin order to win a magical chalice that will grant them any wish.Tournament-based anime seriesdon’t get any cooler than that.

Fate stay night Unlimited Blade Works

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Workswill be released in two editions, but both will be released on the same day. Part 1 will feature the first 13 episodes of the series, and Part 2 will feature episodes 14 to 25. Bonus features that will beavailable in the blu-ray editionare yet to be unveiled, as well as whether the alternative OVA ending will be included in this edition. However, just to be able to own the series forever — as we knowthat titles leave streaming platforms constantly— is a huge win for fans.

Is ‘Fate/Stay Night’ Based on a Manga?

Fate/Stay Nightis one of the few franchises that did the opposite of what normally happens with anime series. It was first released as avisual novel game, and it quickly became a standout title. It was thenadapted into manga, anime, and animated movie formats. When it was adapted into a manga, the series was written byDatto Nishiwaki.

The animation studio responsible for bringingFate/Stay Nightto life is Ufotable, which in recent years became widely known for itstop-notch style displayedin the hit anime seriesDemon Slayer. Before that, however, the studio had already been praised for the visuals ofFate/Stay Night.
