James Bondis back!Well, he almost is. The wheels for the next film in the007franchise are finally turning after many years with little to no news. After the keys to this super spy’s Aston Martin were given to Amazon and directorDenis Villeneuve, it feels like there’s been a new James Bond rumor or story to chew on every day. Now, to hold people over until the next Bond bombshell drops,Sideshow Collectibleshas returned with their latest 007 figure.
A part of Sideshow’s expensiveHot Toy collection, their new James Bond ⅙ scale figure is based onDaniel Craig’s 007 inNo Time to Die. This was the last film in the franchise for Craig and the last Bond film overall before Amazon reboots it. The piecesees the stylish spy in his “Commando Outfit” from the film. This features a navy blue army layered sweater over a white Henley shirt. The latter of which is blood-stained as Bond is in the heat of battle. He’s also seen wearing a utility belt, combat trousers and boots. The weapons included with the figure are a close-quarters combat battle revolver, a retractable stock, two pistols and four grenades. Bond comes with a watch, a pair of sunglasses, a gun sling, a tactical gun sling bag and the bunny doll “Dou Dou” as well. This figure will be up for pre-order soon and is the secondNo Time to Diefigure from Sideshow. The last one has Craig’s Bond inhis classic tuxedo look.
The End of a James Bond Era
TheCraig era for James Bondsaw many firsts for the franchise. The actor’s debut film as the character,Casino Royale, told the origin story of Bond for the first time, while the following entry,Quantum of Solace, was the first direct sequel in the series. That would set the precedent for the rest of Craig’s films. His version of the spy received a rare complete arc.
This concluded with 2021’sNo Time to Die. Aftermany delays, the final film of the Craig era was an emotional rollercoaster. It not only saw James Bond fall in and out of love multiple times with his partnerMadeleine Swann, it saw James Bond have a child for the first time. That gaveNo Time To Diean extra layer that this hardcore action franchise never had before.His daughter Mathilde is represented in this new Hot Toy figure with the previously mentioned adorable bunny doll. While the reviews were mixed and theendingwas controversial, Bond’s relationships in this film will most likely make it remain one of the more unique entries in the franchise.
