David Dastmalchian Has Scream King Status
Although he might be breaking new ground with his directorial debut, David Dastmalchian’s acting background is a horror legacy unto itself. Sure, we’ve loved seeing him in Marvel’sAnt-Manfilms, DC’sThe Suicide Squad, andChristopher Nolan’sOppenheimer, but the spooky, scary genre runs through his veins. Last year, the actor’s charisma shined through inColinandCameron Cairnes’ standout feature,Late Night with the Devil, which easily goes down asone of 2024’s best entries in the genre. Channeling his inner late-night TV host, the actor carried the weight of a mind-bending journey with a unique and well-crafted story all while dragging audiences to hell in a handbasket.
His other recent horror hits includeRob Savage’s adaptation ofStephen King’sThe BoogeymanandAndré Øvredal’sThe Last Voyage of the Demeter. Later this year, he’ll jump into another King-originated project when he appears alongside a killer ensemble inMike Flanagan’sThe Life of Chuckbefore appearing inFelipe Vargas’ directorial debut,Rosario.
