It’s time to return to the world where sight is a myth,Jason Momoaswings a sword like it’s second nature, andDave Bautistasteals the show in a beard that could win awards. Created byPeaky BlindersmastermindSteven Knight,SEEis set in a distant future where a virus has wiped out most of humanity, andthe survivors’ descendants have lost the ability to see. In this brutal, restructured society, vision is a long-forgotten myth – until Baba Voss (Momoa), a fierce tribal warrior, learns that his newborn twins can actually see.

Yes, it’s a wild concept. But it works, especially once you get past the moody visuals and overstuffed lore of Season 1. Initially released in 2019,SEEcame with all the prestige trappings – expensive production, Emmy-winning actors likeAlfre Woodard, and aGame of Thronesalum swinging axes. Butit took a while to find its footing, even if no sane human could dispute the fact that the nameBaba Vossis an absolute killer.

Is ‘SEE’ Any Good?

For all its potential,SEESeason 1 didn’t quite click with audiences or critics. The Rotten Tomatoes score still sits at arough44%, with complaintsabout a convoluted story, grim tone, and an overly serious approach to its world-building. It had big ideas, but they didn’t always land. Still, there was one thing critics and fans agreed on:Jason Momoa was perfect as Baba Voss, a brooding, honorable warrior who’d kill for his kids and looks good doing it. Buteven he couldn’t carry the whole show on his back– at least, not alone.

Enter: Dave Bautista. When Season 2 dropped – delayed two years by COVID – the show came back sharper, tighter, and with a villain worth fearing. Bautista played Edo Voss, Baba’s estranged brother turned ruthless general, andhe brought exactly the fire the series needed. The emotional weight was heavier. The stakes were higher. And the fight scenes?Brutal and brilliant.Bautista was so committed to the role thatMomoa made him walk around blindfolded with a cane for daysto fully embrace life as a character without sight. Their sibling rivalry burned at the heart of Seasons 2 and 3, transformingSEEfrom a failed high-concept experiment into a compelling fantasy epic.
