“Writing’s on the Wall”,Sam Smith’stheme forSpectrehas been released. As some of you know, it’s the first James Bond theme song recorded by a British male solo artist since 1965 when Tom Jones didThunderball. The new track was co-written by Smith and fellow Grammy Award winnerJimmy Napes.

Smith said: “This is one of the highlights of my career. I am honoured to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song. I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations. I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it.”

Loaded with his trademark vocals, it definitely sounds like a James Bond theme song. However, while I am a huge fan of Sam Smith, the song didn’t wow me like “Skyfall” byAdele. The first time I heard “Skyfall” I knew it was a classic. TheSpectretheme song sounds fine. But it’s nothing I will need to hear again and again.
