Stewart will play a young woman who is planning to propose to her girlfriend in front of her girlfriend’s family. The catch? Her girlfriend (Davis) hasn’t come out yet to her conservative parents.

She also co-wrote the script with actressMary Holland, who I’m told will be playing Davis' sister – the nicest, weirdest and most accepting member of her family, who treat her like a bit of a black sheep compared to her sisters.

DuVall is a promising filmmaker and between Stewart and now Davis, this is a great cast for a movie about the struggle to come out, something that no one should ever have to feel any shame over. I’ll be interested to see what the tone of this as, asthe Hollywood Reporterdescribed it as a romantic comedy, but I’m sensing some dramatic elements here, particularly given the casting.

She has appeared on numerous TV shows includingBlunt TalkandVeep, and just shot a pilot for Comedy Central calledRobbie. Holland also popped up inMike and Dave Need Wedding Dates,Brie Larson’s directorial debutUnicorn Store, and she played the scene-stealing triage nurse in Netflix’s raucous comedyThe Package. This year, Holland will be seen in the soccer mom comedyGreener GrassandDolly Wells' indie dramedyGood Posture. she’s repped by ICM Partners and Atlas Artists.
