Near the end of last week, the first footage fromA Big Bold Beautiful Journeywas released, and now Sony Pictures has followed up by dropping the first official trailer of the film. StarringMargot RobbieandColin Farrell, the grand romance adventure tells an imaginative tale of two strangers and the inspiring journey that binds them. The film will be released in theaters on September 19 later this year, and it also starsPhoebe Waller-Bridge(Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny),Hamish Linklater(The Big Short), andBilly Magnussen(No Time to Die). This will be Robbie’s first feature role since starring inBarbie, the 2023 blockbuster smash hit, and it will also be Farrell’s first appearance since his hit comic book TV series,The Penguin.
Seth Reisswrote the script forA Big Bold Beautiful Journey, andKogonadasigned on to direct the film. Reiss recently made his screenwriting debut onThe Menu, the 2022 R-rated thriller starringAnya Taylor-JoyandRalph Fiennes, and he more recently penned an episode ofThe Regime. The HBO original series starsKate WinsletandMatthias Schoenaerts. As for Kogonada, this won’t be his first time working with Collin Farrell. The two previously teamed up onAfter Yang, the AI sci-fi thriller that also featuresJodie Turner-Smithin a supporting role. This came four years after he made his feature directorial debut onColumbus, the coming-of-age drama starringJohn Cho(Star Trek) andParker Posey(The White Lotus). Kogonada most recently directed episodes ofThe Acolyteon Disney+ andPachinkoon Apple TV+.
What Else Do Colin Farrell and Margot Robbie Have in the Works?
AfterA Big Bold Beautiful Journey, Margot Robbie will also star oppositeJacob ElordiinWuthering Heights. TheEmerald Fennell-directed film will hit theaters everywhere on June 02, 2025. She’ll reportedly reunite withBarbiestarRyan Goslingon anOcean’s 11prequel, but updates on the film have been silent for a while now. As for Farrell, he’ll reprise his role as Oz Cobb inThe Batman Part II, which is now not coming to theaters until July 27, 2025. He was also attached to star in the DCU’sSgt. Rockmovie that was recently canceled, but it’s been reported that the film could be revived next year once scheduling conflicts are smoothed over.
