This year’sThe Penguinwas a fantastic miniseries, showcasing remarkable turns byColin Farrellas Oswald Cobb (aka The Penguin) andCristin Miliotias Sofia Falcone—which makes the show’s engaging plot twists hit even harder. Although it’s only one season long (and should probably stay that way), this show packs a ton of story, backstory, and disturbing insights into the human condition. The story works so well that it’s rather easy to forget that it’s loosely based on comic book material....

It’s a little difficult to parse out the particulars of the three new episodes that are coming this season, but they seem to have a familiar theme to them: Isolation and loneliness in a world where we’re supposedly more connected than ever through technology. While I’m speculating a bit here, it looks like these stories will take that idea into a variety of directions: dating apps and infidelity, virtual fame, and virtual fighting....

Last week at ArcLight Cinemas Hollywood, Collider partnered up withFrank Grillo, directorJoe Carnahan, and ArcLight Cinemas for an advance screening of the upcoming sci-fi action thrillerBoss Level. The film stars Grillo as a retired special forces soldier that gets stuck in a time loop on the day of his death. As he keeps repeating the day, he’s forced to battle various assassins while also trying to figure out what’s going on....

Despite scathing reviews,Brightwill be a franchise. While reports swirled last week that Netflix was already eying aBrightsequel, the streaming service made it official today, confirming thatWill SmithandJoel Edgertonare “expected” to reprise their lead roles inBright 2. Additionally, while the first film originated with aMax Landisscreenplay that was then sold to Netflix, theBrightsequel will be written and directed byDavid Ayer, who helmed the first movie and has written films likeTraining DayandU-571, as well as films he directed likeFuryandSuicide Squad....

Doug Limandirected the adaptation ofPatrick Ness' popular YA sci-fi series, which co-starsDaisy RidleyandMads Mikkelsen. It’s no secret thatChaos Walkinghas been a troubled production, as cameras started rolling way back in August 2017. It was initially slated to hit theaters on July 08, 2025, but a trailer was never even released, and now the film is unlikely to hit theaters before 2020, as Lionsgate has decided it needs at least three weeks of reshoots....
