Villains make the world go round. What is a good story without one, and thankfully, ABC’sThe Rookiehas a good story and several villains we all love to hate in equal measure. The show is currently in its off-season with filming on its upcoming eighth season currently ongoing and, withits premiere in 2026, will come the return of some of our most beloved characters. Season 7 ended with a couple of baddies getting loose of the cages that held them down....

IMDb TV’sAlex Rideris making its return for a second season, and it looks like things are deadlier than ever for the series’ young hero. The streamer has released a new trailer for the second season of the spy drama, based on the young adult book series byAnthony Horowitz, and it looks like the action-adventure series isn’t pulling any punches when it comes to throwing its titular hero (played byOtto Farrant) into the deep end....

Ben Wheatleyis making his return to TV to take on U.K. politics and the walking dead at the same time. TheHigh Risefilmmaker has been tapped by Britain’s Channel to write and direct a six-episode series titledGeneration Z,a darkly comedic horror satire that follows a zombie outbreak in a Brexit-divided nation. Here’s a pretty expansive synopsis courtesy ofDeadline: The future looks bleak for today’s youth – seemingly-endless austerity, astronomical house prices, insurmountable student debt, a political system which appears intent on destroying itself… And to add insult to injury, their hard-earned taxes are being eaten up by the old – smug, self-satisfied, small-minded, “Little Englander” pensioners whose remaining sole purpose in life is to make it a misery for everyone else....

I love movie posters. I’ve had them littering my wall since middle school, and I’m always impressed when a studio takes a chance on a design that isn’t a floating head or a blue/orange color scheme. Too often, studios play it safe, but when they go outside the box, they can come up with something you want to take out of the multiplex and bring home. It not only sells the film; it elevates the film by mere association....

Maya and the Threedebuted on Netflix in October 2021. The show is a fantasy series that follows the adventures of 15-year-old Maya (voiced byZoe Saldana). Set in Latin America and drawing influences from Mesoamerican culture, Eagle warrior princess Maya is on a quest to fulfill an ancient prophecy. Created byJorge R. Gutiérrez, the director ofThe Book Of Life, it’s an ambitious animation that compels you with its interesting characters and outstanding technical components....

I like theRockymovies and I especially like the spinoffCreed. There are exceptions likeRaging Bull, but part of the reason that movie succeeds is that it’s willing to explore the darkness of its subject....

Blood on Her Namestarts with a murder. Maybe manslaughter. Or perhaps, something in between. All we know for sure is, when this thriller starts, Leigh Tiller (Bethany Anne Lind) has a dead body to dispose of, a son to protect, and secrets to keep. And she’s completely out of her league, lacking the forensic skills and, worse, moral ambivalence to get the job done clean. A lowkey thrill ride that builds steady, quiet tension,Blood on Her Namethrives when it focuses on how utterly unprepared the average human is to do dirty deeds....

It’s not surprising to learnthat DC Studios is developinga newWonder Womanfilm, as the new cinematic universe would want to take advantage of one of the most iconic superheroes of all time. A new take on Diana Prince’s story will also allowJames Gunn’s franchise to help correct some of the errors that were made in the DCEU version. The firstWonder Womanfilm suffered from the same gloomy visuals of theZack Snyderfilms, andWonder Woman 1984was a tonal disaster that committed to a ridiculous “wishing well” storyline....

The road toDeadpool 2has been a little longer and a lot more fraught than expected. After years of trying to get the film made,Deadpoolfinally hit theaters this past February toinsanesuccess, grossing $782 million worldwide. For an R-rated superhero movie with a budget less than half of what most other superhero movies carry, that’s a huge hit for Fox, so obviously the studio wanted to get a sequel going ASAP. However, the official announcement didn’t come until April, whenFox confirmedthat writersRhett ReeseandPaul Wernick, starRyan Reynolds, and directorTim Millerwere returning—albeit with no release date firmed up....

In late 2016, it looked like 20th Century Fox was already planningDeadpool 3even thoughDeadpool 2was still in development. The plan seemed to be to keep giving Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) his own movies, but also launchX-Force, which would include Deadpool in a team dynamic. Now that we’ve gotten a closer look atDeadpool 2, it appears that the upcoming sequel will introduceX-Force, and that meansDeadpool 3could be up in the air a bit....
