Paradiseis in the middle of production on Season 2 right now, and creatorDan Fogelmanhas just shed some light on the series’ future. The first season ofParadisekicked off earlier this year and was an instant hit, garnering acclaim from both critics and audiencesfor its unpredictable twists and compelling performances. Hulu announced during the middle of Season 1 that the show had been renewed for a second, and the follow-upkicked off production not long after the Season 1 finale. Creator Dan Fogelman recently took part in an interview with Variety as part of its Writer’s Room event, and he not only revealed thathe plans for the show to be three seasons, but also spoke about his process of arriving at this conclusion:

“I know, generally, how many episodes I want to do, but then once you have those markers, you say, that’s act one, that’s act 2, and that’s act 3. If you set that, it’s a really lucky place to be, but it can be really helpful, even if it’s ten seasons.”

Starring in the lead role of Agent Xavier Collins inParadiseisSterling K. Brown. Collins is a Secret Service Agent to President Cal Bradford (James Marsden), who is murdered in the opening episode. This certainly comes as a bit of a shock, especially considering Marsden was so prevalent in the marketing material leading up to the show, but Fogelman and co. make good use of him in Season 1 with plenty of flashbacks every episode. It’s been confirmed that Brown will return and reprise his role as Xavier Collins in Season 2, butMarsden’s status is still up in the air.Julianne Nicholson, however, will reprise her role as Sinatra in Season 2.Shailene WoodleyandThomas Dohertyhave also joined the Season 2 cast, with the latter playing the leader of a biker gang.
