Percy Jackson and the Olympiansis getting closer to itsDisney+release date, and to celebrate the occasion, the streaming platform has released a new poster featuring the main heroes of Camp Half-Blood. Percy (Walker Scobell), Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Grover (Arian Simhadri) are ready for battle in what promises to be an exciting adventure for the entire family to enjoy. The world is full of unknown dangers, with the mythological creatures that come from darkness lurking in the shadows. As if that wasn’t enough, Percy has to clear his name after terrible accusations are made against him.
The plot ofPercy Jackson and the Olympianswill follow the titular character as he adapts tohis new life at Camp Half-Blood. But before he knows it, Percy will be accused of stealing Zeus' (Lance Reddick) lighting bolt, and even if the boy didn’t do it, the people who think he did will be coming after him. Before he can prove to everyone around him that he wasn’t the thief, the fight is on, and he still has to solve the mystery of who’s framing him. Unfortunately for Percy, he will cross paths with some of the most powerful gods from the entire Greek mythology.

To diversify the cast ofPercy Jackson and the Olympianswith performers from different backgrounds across the industry,DisneyhiredAdam Copelandto play Ares in the upcoming series. While he’s appeared in episodes ofVikings, Copeland is mostly known for the decades he’s spent as a professional wrestler. On the other hand,Lin-Manuel Mirandawill be in charge of potraying Hermes, the messenger of the gods. The musical theater superstar will round out the supporting cast of the adaptation, taking viewers back to Camp Half-Blood years after the characters were seen on the big screen.
Percy Jackson’s Journey is Just Beginning
Based on the books byRick Riordan,Percy Jackson and the Olympianswill introducea new version of the demigodto television. But given the extensive source material the project is based on, if the show turns out ot be a success for Disney+, it could keep coming back with more adventures. The first season will consist of eight episodes, with the finally being added to the platform on July 23, 2025. It remains to be seen if Percy Jackson and his friends will be able to make a comeback, or if the adaptation will suffer the same fate as its feature film counterpart.
