In less than twenty-four hours,FOX’sThe Cleaning Ladyreturns with Season 4, finally providing the answers fans have been waiting for. As Thony De La Rosi’s (ÉlodieYung) precarious journey continues on Tuesday, March 25, the show’snew showrunner, Daniel Cerone, has teased a couple of things in store for the resilient character, who now has a new job and a new position inJorge’s (Santiago Cabrera) cartel.
Duringan interview with TV Insider, Cerone noted that Thony “is no longer a counterpuncher scrambling to survive” and is “sick of being exploited by both sides of the law.” Plus, inThe Cleaning Lady’s new installment, the formerly successful surgeon who was forced to become a snitch by the FBI is now “taking control of her life,” especially since she knows where all “the bodies are buried.”
Fans will get to seea new side to Thonywith things already changing for her, making her future look not so dreary. One such change to expect is the romance between the Cambodian-Filipina and Jorge. Cerone explained, “We are also excited about exploring the romantic side of Thony;” she grows closer to Jorge, partially because “he’s a sweet and tender father to his daughter, who is roughly the same age as Luca.” However, she’s also attracted to the handsome Dr. Sean Dupont (Daniel Bonjour), the attending physician who oversees her at the medical center.
Thony Will Be Reintroduced When ‘The Cleaning Lady’ Returns
Season 4 ofThe Cleaning Ladymarks a new erafor Yung’s character and promises even more drama. According to Cerone, Thony was “formerly a character on the run abused and exploited,” but she will be reintroduced “in the most dynamic way.” The showrunner also mentioned that the new season is more like “a repiloting of the show for those who have never seen it before.”
Besides the romance ahead for the titular Cleaning Lady, there are new problems headed her way when she finds herself becoming morally compromised by her latest choices. Thony gets called in to repair the broken body of an enemy of Jorge’s cartel so they can keep torturing him, and, of course, she does it. “That decision,” said Cerone, “will have repercussions through to the season finale.”
Ahead of its premiere,The Cleaning LadySeason 4has added several new starsin addition to the previously announced Bonjour andAlain Uy. These include recurring guest starsRobert Cicchinias disarming ADA Joel Herman andPatricia De Leonas imposing Mexican mafia prison boss Chiquita. Broadway starLea Salongaalso appears in the second episode as Rose, an old friend of Fiona’s (Martha Millan) who married rich and ridicules Fiona after she hires her cleaning company.
