Thelong-time CBS soap opera,The Bold and the Beautiful, has beenrenewed for three more seasons, which means that the show is confirmedto be on air up until its 41st installment. Although soap operas are now largely considered a thing of the past in North America and have mostly been replaced by procedural dramas,The Bold and the Beautiful,The Young and the Restless, andGeneral Hospitalremain the only major ones still on air.
This latest renewal forB&B, therefore, doesn’t come without strong reason and reflects the show’s continued strong performance across platforms. According to CBS,The Bold and the Beautifuliscurrently averaging nearly 3.2 million viewers per episodeafter seven days of multi-platform playback. Streaming on Paramount+ has also grown, and the viewership reportedly grew by 8% year-over-year, as per Variety. The show, therefore, definitely has an ability to retain a loyal audience while attracting new viewers in the digital space, even in 2025. The announcement also arrives just weeks afterthe series marked its 38th anniversary on August 04, 2025, and cements its place as one of the longest-running dramas on television.

B&Bwas created byWilliam J. BellandLee Phillip Belland follows the lives, relationships, and rivalries of the Forrester, Logan, and Spencer families, set against the backdrop of the high-stakes Los Angeles fashion world and the Forrester Creations design house. Original cast membersJohn McCook(Eric Forrester) andKatherine Kelly Lang(Brooke Logan) remain central figures of the show now, asthey’ve been part of the cast since its debut.
Crossovers betweenThe Bold and the Beautifuland other CBS daytime properties once were strategic toB&B,asa lot ofthe CBS showshad overlapping viewers. However, it has been over 12 years since there was a proper crossover. Characters, including but not limited to Sheila Carter, Lauren Fenmore, and Eric Forrester (McCook), frequently moved betweenB&BandThe Young and the Restless, which is interestingbecause procedural dramas and their spinoffs today have a similar synergygoing on.

CBS still has the rare advantage of owning two enduring soap operas and two highly-watched game shows (The Price Is Right,Let’s Make a Deal). However, the network seems to have largely paused the inter-show storytelling strategythat once gave its daytime slate a competitive edge. The last time when the four shows had a proper crossover of sorts was back in 2011-2012 when Thomas Forrester (Adam Gregory) modeled wedding attire onThe Price Is Rightduring a bridal-themed showcase, and then whenJack Wagnerappeared onLet’s Make a Dealto offer a contestant a walk-on role onB&B.
WithB&Bnowrenewed through its 41st season andY&Rcontinuing strong in its 52nd installment, the timing may be ideal to revive the crossover model, perhaps. The Bold and the Beautifulis broadcast on weekdays at 1:30 PM ET/12:30 PT on CBS and can also be streamed on Paramount+.
