Based on the French graphic novel of the same name byAlexis NolentandLuc Jacamon, Fincher’s latest is billed as a “bloody, brutal, and stylish noir” film about acold and calculating assassin with a consciencewho finds himself at the wrong end of a manhunt as his employers seek to erase him over a botched hit.
Falling to the second rung of the English film ranking is the U.K. thrillerLocked In,last week’s chart-topperstarringFinn Cole,Rose Williams, andFamke Janssen, which added another 13.2 million views to its total. The tense film follows a nurse’s journey to resolve the mystery surrounding one of her coma patients, only to uncover a web of affairs, bitterness, and ultimately murder at the core of it all. Other prominent titles featured on the charts includeSylvester Stallone’s documentarySlyin fourth place with 5.9 million views, theAnnette BeningandJodie Foster-ledNyadin fifth with 5.8 million, andPain HustlersstarringEmily BluntandChris Evansin sixth with 5.1 million. People are also still lovingSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, landing it in seventh with another 4.4 million to its name.

On the non-English film side, the French action-comedyWingwomenclung to the top spot with another 11.6 million, thoughFincher and Fassbenderassured it’s no longer the streamer’s top draw. The film follows best friends and professional thieves Alex (Adèle Exarchopoulos) and Carole (Mélanie Laurent) who fight for their freedom from a life on the run with the help of a motorbike champion. Theholiday spirit is in the airtoo, withThe Claus Family 3from Belgium notably bursting onto the chart in fourth place with 2.8 million views.
‘All the Light We Cannot See’ Shines Even Brighter in First Full Week
The top of the Netflix charts is entirely ruled by adaptations this week asShawn Levy’s WWII seriesAll the Light We Cannot See, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel byAnthony Doerr, returned to the peak for a second straight week. Thanks to this being its first full week of availability, it eclipsed its debut viewership with 10.1 million views over its original 9.8 million. While viewers were eager to continue watching the intertwining journeys ofMarie-Laure (Aria Mia Loberti) and Werner (Louis Hofmann)through Nazi-occupied France, they were just as excited to read Doerr’s original novel, which returned to top the New York Times bestseller list thanks to the renewed popularity.
Leading the charge for television chart newcomers was the investigative docuseriesEscaping Twin Flames, which dives into the sinister dealings of the online Twin Flames Universe community. The series hit third on the chart with 4.1 million views followed by another docuseries following the rise ofRobbie Williamsat 3.9 million, and finally,the violent animated epicBlue Eye SamuraistarringMaya Erskinewhich placed sixth at 2.9 million. On the non-English chart,LupinPart 3was dethroned by Season 3 of the Turkish dramaThe Tailorwith 4.4 million views.
