One of the most compelling aspects ofreality competition showsis when the underdog finds their stride and surprises everyone.Dickson Wonghas been consistently underestimated since the start ofDeal or No Deal IslandSeason 2. Despite entering an alliance early on with two of the season’s biggest threats,SurvivorlegendParvati ShallowandAustralian SurvivorwinnerDavid Genat, Dickson hasn’t been viewed as a real threat to win the game by any of his castmates and has instead been treated asa pawn to further other players’ games. Throughout the season,Dickson has been vocal in confessionals about being underestimatedboth in the game and in life, stating that he simply views this as an opportunity to prove people wrong. In the last episode ofDeal or No Deal Island, he did just that.

Dickson Impressed the Banker on ‘Deal or No Deal Island’ Season 2

After an axe-throwing challenge leftBig BrotheralumDr. Will Kirbyin charge of choosing someone to face the Banker in a game ofDeal or No Dealthat night, it appeared that Dickson would act as a pawn in Dr. Will’s play againstCourtney “CK” Kim. Since Dr. Will joined theDeal or No Deal IslandSeason 2 cast in Episode 2, CK has beenoutspoken about wanting him gone. After the challenge, Dr. Will immediately set about using Dickson to indirectly target CK. It didn’t take much convincing for Dickson to tell Dr. Will thathe wanted to face the Banker and that he would take CK out if he managed to make a good deal. This was music to Dr. Will’s ears.

Dickson indeed managed to make a good deal after playing the most impressivegame ofDeal or No Dealso far this season. Riding high on confidence that hostJoe Manganielloplayfully termed “Big Dickson Energy,” Dickson turned down every one of the Banker’s offers before revealing that his briefcase contained the highest value on the board of $5,000,000.This made a notable impression on the Bankerand left Dickson with the power to send someone home. Both theDeal or No Deal IslandSeason 2 players and viewers at home expected that person to be CK.
