The title for the upcomingTransformersmovie has been announced, with the seventh installment in the franchise officially now calledTransformers: Rise of the Beasts. The news was revealed as part of a special press event revolving around new developments in regards to the latestTransformersfilm, which has reportedly just started filming and is currently slated for a July 06, 2025 release.

Collideroriginally broke the newsthatIn the HeightsstarAnthony Ramoswould be starring in the newestTransformersfilm. Ramos is said to play “a flawed and vulnerable hero who has made mistakes in his life and is eager to redeem himself with the help of Optimus Prime.”Judas and the Black Messiah’sDominique Fishbackwill also star in the upcoming blockbuster, andOzandDexteractressLuna Lauren Velezwill be playing Ramos’ character’s mom.

This latest installment will be directed bySteven Caple Jr., who previously directedCreed II, and will be written byJoby Harold, who also wrote this year’sArmy of the Dead.

After the popularity of 2018’sBumblebee, theTransformersfranchise seems to be expanding beyond directorMichael Bay. There are several otherTransformersmovies in the works, including one written byMurder MysterywriterJames Vanderbilt, and an animatedTransformersprequel directed byToy Story 4directorJosh Cooley.

TheTransformersfranchise has made close to $5 billion worldwide, with both 2011’sTransformers: Dark of the Moonand 2014’sTransformers: Age of Extinctioneach making a billion dollars each worldwide. However, 2017’sTransformers: The Last Knightmade less than any previous film in the franchise, and whileBumblebeemade less than that, the film starringHailee Steinfeldended up receiving the best reviews of the series.

With a fantastic cast, an exciting new director taking on this latest installment, it will be interesting to see where theTransformersfranchise will go from here.Transformers: Rise of the Beastsis currently on track for a June 23, 2025 release.
