Throughout the production ofBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, a friendly back-and-forth materialized withStar Wars: The Force Awakens. The two films were shooting at the same time, and directorsZack SnyderandJ.J. Abramstook to social media to trade little in-jokes likeHenry Cavillwielding a lightsaber or C-3PO striking a Batman pose. So I suppose it shouldn’t come as a huge surprise that Snyder, currently in post-production onJustice League, put together a mash-up video that combinesBatman v SupermanwithStar Wars.
Your mileage on this video may vary. Snyder is undoubtedly a talented visual filmmaker, but storytelling is not exactly his forte. To be honest, if you told me this video was created by some random fan I’d believe it. It doesn’t quite come together, and aside from some striking imagery (again, he’s great with visuals!), I don’t entirely see the point.

But that’s just me. It’s possible fans of bothBatman v SupermanandStar Warswill find something to love here. If anything, it’s a reminder of how much time Snyder gets to craft his films.Justice Leaguebegan filming early this year and it doesn’t hit theaters until next November, so the filmmaker has plenty of time to put together the superhero team up. Which means he has time for fun little side projects like this trailer mash-up.
Check it out below. Snyder first unveiled the trailer mash-up on the social media service Vero.
